The Role
New role supporting the Africa Programs Manager within this leading energy organisation to work on the development and delivery of events, programs and initiatives that will increase membership, member groups and the profile of the association in this expanding region.
Your time will be divided between: Event Management – venues, logistics, committee support, sourcing speakers, exhibitors and sponsorship. Membership Support – handle enquiries, broadcasting new products and services, communicating with Student Chapters, co-ordination with the Africa director. Program Development – Research and network topics and locations, membership growth, encouraging strong membership retention in each region.
You will also support the development of relationships with the ministry and local companies. You will be expected to travel 2 – 3 times a year.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a basic knowledge of the Sub-Saharan Africa region and its challenges, and in particular, what is involved working in this difficult region. You will be used to working with different cultures/languages. English, French and Portuguese are spoken so any languages very useful. The ability to read, integrate and interpret information from multiple sources, write reports, correspondence and present information is essential. Although this is a supporting role, they are looking for someone to develop and progress, so this is a good career opportunity. You will need to be an excellent communicator, a real people person, have a great sense of humour, be tenacious and confident.
