You should be a native speaker of Portuguese (European) or be fluent in all aspects of the language (written and spoken), preferably with a subject specific qualification at Level 4. You should also be able to include expressions and vocabulary used in Brazil in order to equip learners with basic tools to be able to negotiate practical situations despite of the lexical and linguistic differences.
As part of our adult and community learning programme, we offer non-accredited courses. You will be responsible for designing your own Scheme of Work and weekly Lesson Plans using the Service format. You will also use and adapt appropriate teaching methods and resources at a pace and level which meet learners’ needs. Our learner group sizes are generally between 8-14 learners.
In addition to the time spent in the classroom the hourly rate of £15.69 includes time spent for planning, preparation and marking (PPM).
Adult Learning Tutors are required to hold a recognised Adult Teaching qualification e.g. 7407/7303/Cert Ed, PTTLS, or equivalent or must be willing to commence a qualification course and achieve within one year of commencing employment with PACLS. A Level 2 Qualification or equivalent in ICT is required. Experience of delivering courses within the Curriculum areas relevant to the post and of working in an adult or FE learning environment are required.
